![]() I guess I just like bigger dogs because there more fun to rough house with and don't need let out ever hour and a half. Only problem is, she sits at my wife's feet and stares at me whenever I move always putting herself between me and the wife.I'm pretty she she is just waiting until she's big enough to eat me. Housetraining has been a breeze and she's picking up the basic commands pretty quickly. The thing loves everyone and likes being around people but doesn't whine when crated. Now that I'm out on my own, we picked up a doberman pup and couldn't be happier. That dog is the shit, obedient and fun loving needs people around compared to the schnauzer that just needed fed Was hard putting her down but a few months before she passed we got a German shorthaired pointer We were all really attached to the dog but she wasn't very active and was essentially boring ![]() Growing up, I had a miniature schnauzer that lived from the time I was five years old until a little after my 22nd birthday She's really weird, but I love her to death.Ĭan't really tell you if I prefer big dogs or small dogs, I enjoy having both around. She's about 70 or 80lbs, all black, loud and can come off as menacing, but mostly she's really really annoying. ![]() I have one that is 14 now and he only recently started slowing down, however he fell off pretty quick since we're all pretty sure he can't see anymore.Īs for big dogs, I've had a chocolate lab, and I currently have some kind of black lab, pit bull, and miniature pinscher mix. I was about to comment that for a seemingly useless small dog breed, Dachshunds are natural born killers and can murk the fuck out of certain small animals, and I want one really bad. Also, they were originally bred to crawl into holes and kill badgers, so that's kind of awesome. Not yappy at all and struts around like a boss. Would you let your Doberman yap at the door Heavens, no. Still, they can shed heavily during the fall and spring. Luckily, their smaller size means they don’t produce as much hair as other dogs. Therefore, if you don’t want to deal with a lot of excessive hair, this probably isn’t the dog for you. But little dogs need discipline, including the understanding that a command to quiet means no more barking. Pomeranians shed a lot, as they have a lot of hair. That said, my mom's got a dachshund and he's pretty freaking awesome. Yappy little dogs can be victims of their own cuteness some owners see them as toys and accessories instead of dogs in need of training. SaskskierIf I was a pet person, I would be a bigger dog person (lab, German shepherd, husky, etc).
